Mobile app content and game level design in South Korea
Below are the few snippets I could grab, they represent an 8-month collaborative project for an ESL mobile learning app for a company called SoftLearning Inc.
In South Korea, SoftLearning Inc. is known for creating new (fun) digital learning methods.
This particular app includes reward-based learning. You win prizes (even cash) when you win certain levels or game quests.
So what did I do?
I combined my ESL certification with my content abilities—I reviewed and consulted on 5,000+ images to ensure they were accurate to their corresponding vocabulary.
I grouped words, themes, and difficulty, and applied them to the designer’s game map—co-designing game levels with my Korean design partner.
Users chose the topics that were relevant to them like school, food, travel, etc, and were sent on different storylines with varying rewards—like actual money—-eat your heart out Duolingo.
